July 2016 archive

A few of my favorite things all in one dress- black, white and stripes. I LOVE this dress and everything about it. The flow, the print, the back, the stripes. It is so easy and light to wear whenever. I tend to buy a lot of maxi dresses in the summer but never in the fall. I do think this one would be adorable with a leather jacket over it and a pair of peep toe booties!

For my hair I just took two pieces from each side of my head and literally tied them together like I would my shoelace. I secured it with one bobby pin.

I am wearing the dress out to dinner one night because lately it is grossly hot out even at night so I am taking advantage of not having to cover the cute back with a jacket. I paired it with some lace up black heels that I wear way too often I care to share. There are very limited sizes available but are on super sale.

These are my most worn pair of sunglasses ever. Joe and I visited Beverly Hills and Rodeo Drive a few years ago and these were the one and only thing I bought! I had to get a souvenir and they were the best choice ever!

Add your favorite pair of earrings or long necklace and you are set. My necklace is old from Zara and I wear it all the time. I found something similar and linked it below.  Also, you could absolutely wear this during the day but like I said sometimes I do not want to wear heels.  I have this problem and it is that I am really short. Most maxi dresses drag for me unless I wear heels so you could knot up the front and wear a maxi with flat sandals. It did not work for this one because of the side slits or else I would have styled it two ways for you!

Are you all getting sick of Nordstrom posts yet? I will admit I am getting a little sick of seeing them too because it can get really overwhelming reading tons of blogger posts on what they selected from the huge sale. However, if you are following me and reading then I hope it means we have similarities in style so I feel like I have to share the things I bought and the things I am still coveting. I wish I bought way more but I was trying to be strategic with my budget and want to have money to spend when it is actually Fall!

Here is what I bought:

These lace up flats in the pewter metallic. You can wear lace ups ALL YEAR. I love the metallic!

The Natori bras are my favorites so I was sure to grab this one.

These jeans are still available in all sizes! A classic pair of black rips are essential for Fall!

I love the raw hem and the distressing on this pair of denim. Cannot wait to wear them right away and through the Fall and Winter!

THIS JACKET! I got it in the hunter green which is sadly, very very sadly gone. But the black is so chic too!

I ordered this sweater in grey and then it went out of stock to I am scooping up the black!

Here is what I am still wishing for and thinking of getting:

I love this bag and the color of it!

This bag is only $32 and so cute.

The price on this Gorjana necklace is unreal. Down to $49.90 from $85!

I LOVE the print on this scarf.

These are the most perfect transition boot.

Waiting for these to maybe come back in my size in the grey!!!!

Ok, I am back to enjoying my mini vacation with my family at the beach! Have a great weekend and I hope you snag some good things from the sale!

I think by now you all can tell I do like a bargain and at times I do really well at Forever 21. I hope I never outgrow that store. Am I already too old for it? I don’t care if I am because I like to think I choose things that fit my age and style without being too showy. I got quite a haul within the past couple of weeks when they had 21% off and both my shorts and top are from there.

IMG_1261IMG_1297My cousin was wearing the cutest pair of leather shorts when she came for Everett’s first birthday party and when I asked her where she got them she said they were so old from H&M. I was sad but that didn’t stop me from tracking down a pair of budget friendly leather loves of my own! Enter Forever 21! I found them immediately on there and of course I ordered them. I was so pleased with the quality! They are really soft and not pleather like and actually really soft. They aren’t too short so they are age appropriate (see??) and they are so comfortable.

I am planning on wearing this entire outfit to a girls night dinner I have planned for tomorrow. It is a local Italian place that is BYOB which is always a plus in my book! They have outside seating which I aways prefer when I go out to dinner so a thin long sleeve top is perfect.

IMG_1296IMG_1308I was skeptical about this top when it arrived. It looked SO SEE THROUGH. But when I tried it on with a regular nude strapless you couldn’t see through it where it mattered at all. I chose a strapless because I don’t like seeing straps on ANYTHING. Since this top has mesh on the chest and shoulders you would see straps so I went with the strapless.

Whoops, left the label on my shoes from two years ago. Oh well, I wasn’t about to reshoot this whole look!

IMG_1260This top is very airy and thin and I like how the romantic style pairs with the edgy fabric of the leather shorts. I like to mix fabrics and textures like that to balance out the heavier fabric.

IMG_1273This bag is one of my favorite bags I will ever own because it is vintage from my grandmother. My mom had it for awhile because it belonged to her mother and then somehow it came into my possession and I will never let it go, I wear it any opportunity I can get!

IMG_1292IMG_1300IMG_1301I didn’t realize how much I was going to love this outfit until I put it on and shot the look. Have a great week everyone!
