It is MONDAY again. Why does that keep happening? We had a pretty low key weekend. We spent Saturday exploring our new little town and shooting some looks for the blog and Sunday our normal gym day and hanging around! I do love Sunday. Ok, onto what I wore last week for Outfit Snapshots!
Monday- errands and smoothies with my teething babe while big sister was at school
It is officially Spring although it might not feel like it every day yet. Layers are KEY when the weather cannot make up its mind. I am a huge fan of leather jackets and will of course coninue to wear them even through summer as a topper whenever one is needed. But I also love a classic denim jacket. This season we are seeing embroidery and patches on EVERYTHING and I had my eyes out for the perfect embroidered denim jacket and I found it.
This denim jacket is supposed to be fun. It is not one you will wear everything single day. I like classic pieces, yes, but I also like to add a trendy piece to my closet for that unexpected twist on a classic. For pieces like that, I do not like to spend a lot. This jacket is only $31 and I have to say the quality of the denim is really great. I used to work for a children’s fashion company in Production and denim was my area of expertise. This denim has a soft handfeel and is not stiff at all, making it perfect to drape across your shoulders.
It is a bit oversized so size down if you have the option. I am usually an XS but it was not available so I am wearing the small here. I cuffed up the sleeves and paired it with my favorite pair of black denim which feel like leggings. If you don’t own these jeans you must. I found them on sale for 20% off!
Speaking of must haves for the season, the bodysuit. I cannot get enough of them. Have you guys been to Target lately? The selection is incredible. I grabbed mine up in store and am going back for the rust color. I am wearing the small and I like that it isn’t skin tight. Bodysuits are going to my best friend for chasing my kids around outside and at the park. I can’t stand when my back sticks out when writing with chalk on the ground and digging in the sandbox. Others I am loving are this, this, this and this all from Target and all under $20. I am having trouble locating mine online but I just got it in store last week!
I would also try pairing any of the above bodysuits with a pair of wedges and flares for a date night. It is so comfortable and versatile and the price cannot be beat. I finished off my look with the cutest studded boxy cross body from Melie Bianco. More on that soon!
I named this post March Wear, because this is the type of outfit I tend to wear when the weather is up and down and you never know what you are going to get. Since staying, of course I do not go to an office and work cooperate anymore and since then my style has gotten a lot more casual. Sometimes it is awesome and sometimes I do miss getting dressed up. I do think it is safe to say though that a casually styled outfit does not have to be boring. Sometimes it is hard to make jean and a sweater look interesting but that is where this choker sweater comes in.
Adding a little design detail to a sweater, whether it be a cut out shoulder, a knotted front or back or in this case, a choker detail is one of my favorite things to do. It makes a normally basic sweater come to life a bit more. I chose it in an ivory color because I thought it would transition nicely to Spring.
The sweater I am wearing is only $18 and well worth it. It is thin but still enough for these “wonderfully” chilly days we have been having. I thought it was going to be a bit more oversized but I was actually happy that it was more this length. Sometimes I feel like I swim in sweaters which often times I love but for ones like this I like it more cropped.
These nude sneakers from H&M were purchased a few weeks ago and they are my first piece of Spring entering my closet. They are under $30!!! The slight platform adds that little height to the faux suede sneaker. I just love them.
Questions have been coming my way about my home decor and I have a fun post coming your way this week! I am also searching for a great photography light to shoot indoor photos so if you have any recommendations message me or comment below!
