I am rounding up my outfits from last week for Outfit Snapshots. Do you guys like this series? I really do because it allows me to show you the non Instagram side of what I wore the week prior. A lot of my photos on Instagram are styled blog shoots and yes while I would and do wear the outfits shown I like to be candid on Outfit Snapshots and just post the raw everyday life photos I snap in front of mirrors while rushing to put on my Mom Hat for the day. So, here we go!
Monday- as I write this I am wearing the identical outfit so you will see it 2 weeks in a row. Oh well. But these leggings are part of the Nordstrom Sale and are only $36 which is VERY low for them. I wear them so often I want to just grab a back up pair!
Leggings // Sleeveless Sweatshirt // Sneakers // Sunglasses
Tuesday- I took the kids to the beach this day since Joe was traveling and we had such a good time. I wore this maxi dress in the morning and it is so comfortable. The back is my favorite part! I am wearing a 2 petite and am 5 ‘1 so the length is perfect.
Dress // Studded Sandals // Sunglasses
Wednesday- beach all day I do not have proof of what I wore because it was a bathing suit. Priorities.
Thursday- the kids and I ran errands and it was a mild day. I just got this thin linen top and it looked so cute with my ultimate favorite shorts.
Linen top // Shorts // Espadrilles
Friday- we headed back to the beach for the weekend and I threw this on for the car ride.
Tee // Black denim // Hat // Sunglasses
Saturday- beach ALL DAY so I was able to practice my Ariel impressions.
Swimsuit top // Swimsuit bottom // Sunglasses
Sunday- I wore this crazy comfortable outfit to lounge around at home after we got back from bootcamp. Being at the beach with both kids is exhausting so we took advantage of the rainy day and watched movies inside!
Adidas tee // Camo shorts (similar and part of the Nordstrom Sale)

The culotte is for sure a trend that you either love or hate. Ok, maybe not completely one way or the other because I am personally somewhere in the middle. I am not a huge fan of a culotte pant but I did recently get this culotte jumpsuit and I actually fell in love with it. Especially the $23 price tag.
When looking to jump on the culotte train I have some suggestions to ease you in. First, the length. It should hit you above the ankle but not too low that it looks like you are wearing flood pants. Also be careful of how high and short they are because you do not want them to look like capris. I did have to hem mine because I am only 5 ‘1 and when choosing the length I decided on 2-3 inches above my ankle bone. I love how they came out. Thanks mom!
Another tip I have to even out the heaviness of the wide leg bottom is to choose a jumpsuit that has either a low back or low front, or if you are feeling risqué…both. This one has an AMAZING low back. It ties in two places or you could even bunch them together for one big tie but I felt it looked to thick so I did two smaller ties instead. I wear these petals pretty much every single day and they stay in place all day. I have a small bust so I do not need a lot of support but when I used to have a bigger chest I swore by this bra for backless pieces and it was amazing.
For me, pairing your culottes with a heel is a must. Some people style them beautifully with flats but with my petite frame I just look dowdy and overtaken by the pants. If I was going somewhere really nice like a dinner I would have worn a heel like this. For the daytime event I went to I wore it with these wedges and they definitely took this piece to a more casual level.
One other thing I want to chat about is ordering from Shein. I get questions on quality and I like to tell people that the quality is good for the amount you are paying. I do have to say more times than not I am impressed with the quality. However, if you are paying $20 for a sweater vs $100 for a sweater you might sacrifice quality a little bit. Shein is one of my go to shops for when I need a seasonal trendy piece. Just like this culotte jumpsuit!
