I like pieces that can be versatile, and pieces that can be worn dressed up or down. There are of course, things that are meant to only be worn out to dinner and drinks and articles of clothing that are meant to be worn to the playground with the kids. But, whoever said sneakers are chic is my best friend because swapping out a pair of heels for a pair of sneakers instantly transforms that item and makes it casual. That is what I did here by making a romper casual instead of dressing it up.
I chose this romper for a few reasons. I knew I wanted to wear it mostly during the day so I liked that the neckline wasn’t too plunging. That is a dead giveaway for a piece that should only be worn at night. I also knew I wanted the length to be modest and a lot of rompers are way too short. I actually sized up to a medium here so the length would be more appropriate. There is NO WAY I can wear it without a belt as it is too big.
Typically I HATE self tie belts. (The belt that matches the fabric). But I liked it in this case. It kept the styling minimal and simple and not too showy. If I was to wear this at night I would pair it with this amazing studded belt and these heels. I met my blogger gal pal Sylvia in the city with our kids and we planned a day to shoot some photos, grab a glass of wine at the Refinery Rooftop and later we had an event for Nuna USA! We had a really fun day, despite the rain we ran into for a little. I knew I needed comfort for a day navigating NYC with two kids and double stroller so I threw on my classic Adidas Stan Smith sneakers and this outfit was complete. (Along with a draped moto jacket for that extra edge- of course.)
I am headed back into the city to finish my microblading with Chelsea from The Brow Authority today and I am so so so excited! I will be writing up a full post once round 2 is healed and am looking forward to sharing my experience!
As aways, thank you so much for reading!
